Meet Dr. Beth
Dr. Beth Trammell, PhD, HSPP, is a licensed psychologist, national speaker, and educator who works with early childhood leaders to strengthen culture, communication, and connection — starting with language.
For over two decades, Beth has supported schools, organizations, and families in navigating behavior, stress, and relationships. What she has learned consistently is this: the words leaders use — especially under pressure — shape everything that follows.
Beth is the creator of Make Words Matter™, a language-centered leadership approach designed to help early childhood directors and administrative teams build calmer, more connected environments for staff, children, and families. Her work focuses not on one-time solutions, but on ongoing, practical support that leaders can actually sustain.
In addition to her consulting and speaking work, Beth serves as a Professor of Psychology at Indiana University East, where she also directs the Master of Mental Health Counseling program. Her academic background, combined with years of clinical and real-world experience, allows her to translate research into tools leaders can use immediately.
Beth is known for blending psychological science with everyday leadership realities — offering language that is grounded, compassionate, and effective in real moments of challenge.
Today, Beth’s primary work centers on supporting early childhood leaders through the Make Words Matter™ Leadership Circle, alongside select speaking engagements and limited organizational partnerships.
She lives this work not only professionally, but personally — as a mother of four — and believes deeply that when leaders are supported, entire systems change.
